Happenings: StickFiggy teams up w/ Memetales for Tools of Change Conference, NYC

Tools of Change conference Feb 14- 16th, NYC.

The situation: lit access and distribution are changing. Parents and kids read books in new forms such as online, on iPads, on mobile phones, etc. How and where will they get “electronic books” and how will a publisher or little brand just like StickFiggy offer content formatted for these platforms?

The solution: while publishers face the changing landscape of their industry, tech companies offer solutions. Memetales is an smart solution based out of Seattle!

Why Memetales is super awesome: Memetales is a gamified mobile and web platform for children’s stories. Memetales brings children’s books to multiple mobile devices amidst a rich game like experience. It encourages reading through a proprietary system of points, badges and games. Publishers publish rich books via a super easy publishing platform while being in complete control of their brands, books and the gamification around their books.

So, below are pictures of the 2 of 4 books developed for the StickFiggy category on Memetales presentation for the Tools of Change Conference.  StickFiggy levels badges and games are connected to the stories- I can’t wait till it is all released and I can share it with you!!!

Thank you CEO Maya Bisineer of Memetales.com! FYI- soon tech-forward children and parents will be able to access all this new content from our top “stories” tab. How cool to be able to get StickFiggy to children all around the world with the help of this online publishing platform!

First Day of Chinese New Year

What is Chinese New Year?

Chinese New Year – often called Chinese Lunar New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. Despite its winter occurrence, in China it is known as “Spring Festival,” (hence the GREEN in the StickFiggy picture).

Cool factoids

  • It is also the tradition that every family thoroughly cleans the house to sweep away any ill-fortune in hopes to make way for good incoming luck.
  • RED IS THE LUCKY COLOR.
  • The festival lasts for 15 days and ends with a big family dinner.
  • The family will end the night with firecrackers. Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes.

Cool concept: The Chinese New Year tradition is to reconcile, forget all grudges and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone.
