Happy 4th of July + Sweet Reader Testimonial

Happy 4th of July. I hope everyone is finding time for friends and family this holiday weekend! It is such a great thing to have the freedom to create and generate ideas and to share those things publicly. When we’re born into it, it is hard to NOT take it for granted, but the 4th of July does allow for a little reflection on what it took to get here and what it takes to keep the progress of freedom going.

As you may well know, a series of 6 StickFiggy stories are blasting about cyberspace on the iPhone medium. From my perspective, it is a new thing to have children and parents experiencing the content without ever meeting them ! (Finally without my twisting arms to give it a go! ) One grandmother-grandaughter duo sent in a testimonial that I’d really like to share with you.

“All I can say is WOW – such simplicity in drawing stick figures but you have really put a very unique spin on them for sure.  My granddaughter is 4 and she is just getting to know MY IPAD2.  She was expressing “I don’t want to read any books” but that all changed when I found MeMetales and all of your very unique books.  I like the way you use the single words, then say them again, like SWAY (for example).

Memetales stickers have been motivating her to read more but she keeps going back to your books first.  Which is fine with me!  So she is going to learn all of these words in your books first.

She wants to be a lil ballerina, so I guess you can see her connection to your Lott’s Dance.  Anyway, Bravo on your work – you have really touched the heart of my 4 year old for sure.” Julie Reed, TX.
